There was good reason for Harper to Prorogue Parliament.
He just needs more time before he makes ANY decision. His latter ones have not been that great and certainly he is wasting taxpayer dollars.
His major decisions have not been that good also, first build an oil pipeline to the West, then build it to the East. Perhaps going north to Churchill,…[Read more]

Now we really know how wrong they were. After this prorogue we must ensure that whatever he does or says is fully investigated. We just cannot afford to let this continue!

Whatever he has in mind, or his sponsors have in mind, it ain’t compatible with democracy, much less easy access to influence as in the case of a significant middle class. Thanks for reading my obscurities.

That would preserve our presence in the north while bringing value added jobs up there. • Ken: The US economy is in bad shape right now. Your reduced sales could simply be a function of the economic uncertainty.

Many people aren’t secure in their jobs and others are unemployed.

The only problem is the current state of the US is probably going to stay the same or get worse because they can’t balance their budget.

Also, US tourism was affected negatively once the US required its citizens to have a valid passport to cross the land border crossings. I heard a lot about the need of high speed railway. I agree. Sooner or later we have to make this step. Spending a day to get from Toronto to New York is completely outdated. This trip should take 1-2 hours and cost about $50-60, with customs at the station.

    • Currently, Amtrak does the Montreal to New York leg which takes 12 hrs. Now, Toronto-Montreal, I’d love to see. Even better would be Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal so those of us in O-town don’t have to fly Air Canada or Westjet, can get to TO or Montreal in good time, and be able to use our laptops and cell phones when we like :)
