OTTAWA, (ON) – The following statement was issued today by the Liberal Party of Canada:

“The lawsuit brought by Christine Innes and Tony Ianno against Justin Trudeau and David MacNaughton for defamation has been settled by mutual agreement of the parties.
“The parties have agreed to keep the terms of the settlement confidential.
“The Liberal Party of Canada acknowledges the many years of public service and deep and valued contribution that Ms. Innes and the Honourable Tony Ianno have made to public affairs and the people of Canada.
“The Liberal Party of Canada regrets the circumstances that led to this lawsuit.
“The parties are pleased to have resolved this litigation and will not be making further comment.”
