You know what struck me the most about Sunday’s Policy Matters meeting in Quebec City?

It was how much time Michael Ignatieff spent with people one-on-one – he wanted to know what everyone thought. You could find yourself sitting beside him too, if you join us in Toronto this Sunday.

I don’t think there was a single table he didn’t sit down at throughout the day. Listening to members. Talking to them about the details of the policies we were discussing. It was great to watch.

That’s the Liberal Party I’m proud of. And that’s the Liberal Party you could play a part in if you become a member before this Sunday.

You know what else I noticed last weekend? We Liberals are fighters.

In Quebec City, Liberals came out – over 300 of them – and rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

Mr. Ignatieff put it this way: “We’ve got the job of developing a compassionate and responsible alternative to the Conservatives. We do that by developing policies that are connected to Canadians’ needs and aspirations.”

That’s your job in Toronto this weekend.

You’ve got to bring your energy, creativity and policy ideas to the table. That’s what Michael Ignatieff wants to hear about when when he slides into the chair beside you.

So please join the thousands of Canadians who have already downloaded the Canada at 150 conference report at http://lpc.ca/150report. Read it. Think about it. And come together with Mr. Ignatieff, local MPs and panellists Carolyn Bennett, Ken Dryden, Martha Hall Findlay, John McCallum, and Maria Minna, as well as your fellow party members to make this weekend count.

See you Sunday,
Ian

PS. The session is priced at cost at $36.50. Space is limited so please register today and reserve your place at the table at http://lpc.ca/june13. Don’t forget, to participate you’ll need to become a member first at http://lpc.ca/membership.
