Canadians are proud of the tremendous hard work of David Peterson and Bob Richardson and their team as well as the efforts of Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, Toronto Mayor David Miller and all members of the 2015 Pan Am delegation. They have all done us proud in securing the 2015 Pam Am Games for Toronto and Canada.

Announced today, on the first ballot in Guadalajara Mexico, Toronto and other Ontario communities will proudly host all 42 participant nations in the Americas and the Caribbean as they compete in this multi-sport event.   The Pan Am Games happen every year before the summer Olympic Games and are an event that builds the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie within the Americas.

On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary caucus, I am proud of Toronto’s success and offer my warmest congratulations on this momentous occasion.
