Holder of a Bachelor of Arts, a Master’s of Education and a Master’s in Quebec literature, Ms. St-Denis has always made education a priority. She taught high school French for more than 30 years and participated in teacher-training at UQAM and UQAT. In addition, she worked with homeless youth, offering her support as a teacher but also providing them with the tools to learn language skills in order to help them reintegrate into the job market or an educational setting.
Ms. St-Denis was elected in the constituency of Saint-Maurice–Champlain in the federal election of May 2, 2011.
As a woman in politics, Lise St-Denis is chiefly concerned with education, post-secondary education and skills training, and the status of women, notably those with children who are returning to their studies.
