In October 2008, Scott was first elected Member of Parliament for the Riding of Avalon. His priority since being elected has been constituency work and ensuring his constituents receive the assistance they require from his Office. While Scott has been successful in acquiring funding for important infrastructure projects throughout the Riding, Scott has also ensured that each individual inquiry for assistance has been a priority.
As a Member of Parliament, Scott has had the privilege to serve and participate in several legislative committees.
• Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans
• Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs
• Standing Committee on Natural Resources
• Liberal Party of Canada Provincial Liaison Committee
• Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics
Scott, and his wife Susan Mosher, have enjoyed visiting communities in the Riding and sharing the many festivals and celebrations. From breakfast in Branch, being dunked in Cavendish, pancakes in Arnold’s Cove and crab in Port De Grave, they have enjoyed the friendships and hospitality.
Scott, Susan and their son Malcolm, are residents of Kelligrews in Conception Bay South.
