The doors to the campaign offices in Victoria, Calgary-Centre and Durham are wide open and activities are now in high gear.
That’s because Stephen Harper has finally called by-elections for those three ridings to be held on November 26.
While today’s Supreme Court split decision to overturn the Ontario Superior Court verdict was not what we hoped for, Liberals showed Canadians that we are ready to stand on guard for our democratic principles of order, fairness and good governance.
And we will continue to stand strong against the Conservatives’ attack on our democracy with improper phone calls, personal attack ads, withholding information, secret meetings and omnibus budget bills.
That’s why I’m proud to launch the Do It For Democracy Campaign with the goal of raising $150,000 by midnight Tuesday, October 30, to enable our Party to support our three local by-election teams.
And to highlight the Conservatives’ bad management of taxpayer dollars, I’m asking you for $16. That’s the amount made famous when one of Stephen Harper’s Cabinet Ministers misspent our tax dollars on orange juice.
Click here to donate $16 – that’s could be just $4 after your tax credit — using our pre-filled form. You may also call our toll free donation hotline or contribute by mail. Our phone number and address are both listed below.
Now let me introduce our Liberal candidates for the November 26 federal by-elections.
Grant Humes is our Liberal candidate in Durham, Ontario where Conservative Minister Bev Oda resigned her seat after a number of scandals. Mr. Humes has had a successful business career with The Toronto Board of Trade and is very involved in his community.
Harvey Locke will bear the Liberal flag in Calgary-Centre. Mr. Locke is a long-time member of the Liberal Party of Canada in Alberta, practiced law in Calgary and is a renowned conservationist.
And Paul Summerville is our Liberal candidate in Victoria, BC. Mr. Summerville is an economist and an adjunct professor at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria.
As you can see our Liberal candidates are of the highest caliber. Now you know what happened across the country in the last election. And you understand that we cannot let it happen again.
You may also call 1-800-701-7789 (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm ET) to donate by phone, or mail a cheque payable to “Liberal Party of Canada”, noting the Do It For Democracy Campaign, to the following address:

PS. I would like to thank Mr. Wrzesnewskyj for his tireless efforts in pursuing his cause. His dedication to upholding the integrity of Canada’s electoral system and the faith we have in Canada’s democracy is nothing short of remarkable.

Kudos..friends..!
Best RENEWAL BERTHED..Wishes..to you all..!
CHEERS..!
Hoping the Liberal Pary of Canada will stand for a stronger multi-party approach to reduce the incentives for attacks on our democracy.
The rewards of “improper phone calls, personal attack ads, withholding information, secret meetings and omnibus budget bills” can be drastically reduced under a more proportional voting system.
The incentives behind “winner-take-all” voting (first-past-the-post & alternative vote) to cut corners for an outright victory are too great.
i hope all of the Liberal Canadidates running in these 3 by elections do what President Obama is doing…. which is standing for workers and the Middle Class….. since it is The Middle Class that makes this country great!!!
I hope each Liberal member takes it upon themselves to donate $16 bucks to the campaign. We have strong candidates and need to get their message out and that takes money and many volunteers. If people see Liberals believing in themselves by supporting their party and sharing the message where each of us can in our circles of influence we might build something. The “small” things that we do over time are really big things. Bruce Barton said something interesting, “Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things…I am tempted to think…there are no little things”. Small things can build bigger things if the right connections can be made. It takes many small snowflakes to create an avalanche. Perhaps one day we can bury this Tory government.
