The Liberal Party of Canada has launched tough new television ads that remind Canadians that Stephen Harper has abused his power and lost touch with the priorities of middle-class families.
Two different TV advertisements will be broadcast on English-language stations across Canada.

All over the world, people are fighting for their democratic rights. Here in Canada, we can’t afford to take ours for granted.
But Stephen Harper thinks he’s above the law. He refused to fire Bev Oda for forging documents and misleading Parliament. He shrugged off charges against his inner circle, who are accused of breaking Canada’s election laws and face jail time. He shut down Parliament twice to silence his critics, and decreed that “Government of Canada” should be renamed the “Harper Government.”
Stephen Harper’s plan for the economy amounts to driving up his record $56-billion deficit while taking care of the wealthiest corporations, building US-style mega-prisons and spending $30 billion on stealth fighters.
After five years of Harper, we need a prime minister who serves Canadians – not the other way around.
We need to change priorities in Ottawa to focus on pensions you can count on, health care when you need it, and more job opportunities for young people – things that really matter to Canadian families.
