The picture I promised you

I know what it means to take a leap of faith.

After voting irregularities in the 2011 election in Etobicoke-Centre, I put up a significant amount of my savings to take the fight for electoral fairness all the way to the Supreme Court.

Any day now the Supreme Court will rule whether or not to uphold an Ontario Superior Court decision that invalidated the election. If the ruling is upheld, a by-election must be called within six months.

If the decision goes our way, my campaign team and I are ready.

Thanks to 2,271 Liberals who gave to the Fair Fight in Etobicoke-Centre Campaign last spring, we were able to open an office that’s become the heart of our campaign.

We are bringing together hundreds of volunteers. We are organizing door-to-door canvasses noon and night. We are training, phoning, and staging events. And we can hit the ground running all because of the office you made possible.

But everything we have built only started when I decided to put my resources behind my convictions.

And now that’s what I’m asking of you.

There are four days left to raise the $200,000 the Party needs nationally to keep our extraordinary fundraising performance going strong.

And thanks to the 668 Liberals who responded to Bob Rae’s call-to-action yesterday, we’ve raised $33,717 so far.

But with a mountain still to climb, I’ve got to ask: Are you ready to believe that leadership starts with you?

Please chip in $5 dollars, just $1.25 after your tax credit — to the Keep It Going Campaign and you’ll have done your part:

You may also call 1-800-701-7789 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm ET) to donate by phone.

Thank you.
