As the newly nominated Liberal candidate for Toronto-Danforth, I can’t tell you what it means to see this.
Take a look at our Valentine Wall at campaign headquarters (see photo below) and how it’s filling up with hearts from Liberal donors across the country.
Some are even sending messages. Élizabeth Desjardins Bonenfant of Rimouski, Quebec, sent a note along with her donation that reads “Bonne chance, I am with you!” And Cherish Clarke of Whitehorse, Yukon, wrote “Wishing you a successful campaign!”
All in, some 529 Liberals have generously donated $38,007 to the Take Toronto-Danforth Campaign – an incredible outpouring of support that we will never forget.
But midnight, Monday, February 13 is coming fast. And with just four days left to raise the combined $135,000 our riding and the national office can spend during this by-election campaign, we’ve got a mountain to climb. We could really use your name up on that wall.
Thank you.
Grant Gordon
Liberal Candidate for Toronto-Danforth
PS. We’re gearing up for a big canvassing blitz this weekend. If you’re in the Toronto area and would like to help, please email volunteer@tdfla.ca.

Grant, if you sold anyone, you sold me with your very funny post. You are obviously a man of wit, style and good humour and a candidate to be reckoned with. Congratulations!
Congratulations, Grant. Now, it would be very nice to know who you are, what you have done and what you plan to do as the Liberal MP. I was pleased to note that a candidate had been selected but got no information, only a request for a donation, as per usual. I just attended the convention in Ottawa, where the tactic of requesting donations with every announcement was universally denounced.
We all know that fund-raising is important, but the party seems to have forgotten that people donate because they like the platform, not because of incessant demands for money. If you have a website, please post it so we can all get to know you and decide whether or not to donate to your campaign.
Hi Grant, best of luck. Loved your website. It’s important to keep a sense of humour. You’re the beginning of the way back; no pressure whatsover! :)
