This is what rebuilding looks like (in Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington)

Posted by L-F-L-A on June 22, 2012 | No Comments

The Liberal riding association of Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington (L-F-L-A) held their first Strategic Planning meeting on June 9th. The caring and charismatic group of 20, represented only a small fraction of the booming Liberal membership in this currently Conservative riding. The members who attended the event were engaged, knowledgeable, and happy to push forward with the continued rebuilding of their Liberal Party.

Despite the May 2011 election results the group was aglow with humour, smiles and ideas. The riding of Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox & Addington has been held by a Conservative member since its creation in 2004, yet the Liberal membership in the riding increases every month. The group was overjoyed that they could work through the Strategic Planning event, being able to brainstorm what is needed to achieve their goals for 2013, 2014 and 2015.

In the end, the L-F-L-A riding has committed to:
•    Keeping its ears to the ground
•    Building a strong association
•    Increasing the Liberal presence in the area
•    Maintaining engagement with youth, members and residents of the riding through a variety of activities and events.

Glad to hear of another riding having successful rebuilding efforts. As for the commitments at the bottom, what specifically are you doing to achieve those goals?

This riding covers a lot of geography and has no one centre. There are several small advertising newspapers and members have been asked to pay attention to what is talked about in them so we can reply, to listen to conversations in coffee shops and food store lineups to see what is of concern and to iitiate conversations about issues they are concerned about to elicit reaction. We hope to hold a number of fundraising as well as free events to attract attention, and have a membership drive ongoing.

      Hi Mike,
It’s still quite early to get into Leadership Race stuff even though there is a lot of hype in the media. Many things still need to take place such as establishing the formal Leadership Expense Committee, setting the criteria for candidates, determining the actual date of the Leadership Vote, etc. The section on Leadership will most likely go up some time after this summer, probably in early fall. Whenever it goes up, rest assure that it will be easy to find.

That’s a tough question for me to answer, especially at this point in time. I’ll have to go with 50/50 for all of them. No doubt we’ll soon find out…

u should go encourage Ralph Goodale to jump into the race. if he wins the leadership….. it will likley only take him 1 election to become the Prime Minister. he would be that good.
