Last time I rode a bus for the entire summer, I was a university student explaining the bus schedule changes to riders on Kitchener transit. Even though this summer’s Liberal Express doesn’t make quite as many stops as a city bus, the difference is the crowds at the bus stops are more impressive in size and much friendlier!
There are university students on this bus too. Half of it is full of Young Liberals who are so politically attuned that they make the rest of us feel the need to step it up (when we’re not fondly reflecting on how we all cut our political teeth). They’re also all pursuing fascinating career paths. No doubt many of us will be knocking on doors for their candidacy in the future!
Today, the Young Liberals will be joining Michael Ignatieff at the Waterloo Regional Children’s Museum along with my good friend Senator David Smith and MPs John McCallum, Rob Oliphant, Shawn Murphy, Joe Volpe, Carolyn Bennett and Frank Valeriote.
Afterwards, Teresa Huegle and Andrew Telegdi and I are welcoming everyone to Bingeman’s for a BBQ (my backyard isn’t big enough) for burgers, salad and a chance to meet all the fabulous people in the K-W!
Karen Redman is the Liberal candidate for Kitchener Centre. She was first elected as the MP for Kitchener Centre in 1997 and was re-elected in 2000, 2004 and 2006
