“Michael Ignatieff’s Town Hall for Canada” draws an estimated 500,000 viewers

An estimated half million Canadians in all ten provinces welcomed Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff into their homes on Easter Sunday for an up-close-and-personal 30-minute TV special about the Liberal Party’s plan to strengthen families and defend Canada’s health care system.

As the election enters its final week, “Michael Ignatieff’s Town Hall for Canada” gave hundreds of thousands of Canadians watching in 15 major markets across Canada the chance to hear directly from the Liberal Leader about the Liberal Party’s plan to help families and his commitment to equal opportunity for all Canadians.

The half-hour TV special featured candid interviews with Michael Ignatieff, including exclusive footage of him on the campaign trail answering town hall questions from average Canadians.

“Michael Ignatieff’s Town Hall for Canada” immediately received positive online reviews from journalists and voters alike on Twitter and Facebook, and caused a spike in donations to the Liberal Party’s fundraising efforts.

This evening, Mr. Ignatieff will speak to a further 1.7 million Quebecers and francophone Canadians on the French-language talk show “Tout le monde en parle” on Radio-Canada at 8:00 PM.
