MONTREAL— Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on International Holocaust Remembrance Day:
“On the 67thanniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we reflect on the millions who died and the countless who suffered at the hands of blind hatred and persecution.
This was the darkest moment in our history and we must strive every day to honour those lost by fighting division, tyranny and hatred wherever they are found. A moment we work to ensure is never repeated. A moment never to be forgotten.
Our hearts and our thoughts today are with our friends in Jewish communities around the world as they mourn and remember.”
