SHERBROOKE— Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on the death of former ethics counsellor Howard Wilson:
“We are all saddened to learn of the sudden passing of former ethics counsellor, Howard Wilson, in Ottawa on Sunday.
A dedicated civil servant, Mr. Wilson began his career with the Department of Trade and Commerce, eventually becoming a director and handling high-profile international files, before being named Canada’s first ethics counsellor. In every capacity, in all his duties, Mr. Wilson was known for his tact and his integrity.
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I wish to express our deepest condolences to Howard’s wife, children and grandchildren.”
