TORONTO– Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on the death of former Liberal MP Jim Jordan:
“It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of former Liberal MP Jim Jordan.
An educator by trade, Jim made significant contributions to his community through his work as a teacher, principal and school inspector. Elected in 1988 to represent the riding of Leeds–Grenville, he continued this work, advancing the issues of literacy and post-secondary education, and advocating for persons with disabilities.
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary caucus, I extend my condolences to his sons David, Bob, Joe, Tom, Mike and Andy, and their families at this difficult time.”
