Statement by Liberal Leader Bob Rae on the passing of Nova Scotia Senator Fred Dickson

Posted on February 9, 2012

OTTAWA– Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on the death of Senator Fred Dickson:

“It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Nova Scotia Senator, the Hon. Fred Dickson.

Senator Dickson was always a strong and effective advocate for the interests of Nova Scotians and he brought that enthusiasm with him to the Senate when he was appointed in 2009. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues on the Hill.

On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”
