Statement by Liberal Leader Bob Rae on Christmas

Posted on December 25, 2012

TORONTO– Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on Christmas:

“Today many Canadians will celebrate Christmas with their families, friends and communities both here and around the world.

It is a time for Christians and people from a diversity of backgrounds to come together and give thanks for the countless blessings in our lives and to think on those who are less fortunate. This is also a time to give and to share whatever we can.

I especially think of those Canadians who cannot be with their loved ones on this Christmas day – including our brave women and men in uniform who continue to serve overseas. We give thanks for their sacrifice and that of their families.

On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary Caucus, Arlene and I extend to you our warmest wishes for good health, happiness and a very merry Christmas.”
