Senator Paul Massicotte was appointed to the Senate on June 26, 2003 by
Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. He represents the province of Québec and
the Senatorial Division of De Lanaudière.
Senator Massicotte
is originally from Manitoba and earned a bachelor’s degree in
administration from the University of Manitoba. He became a chartered
accountant in the province before moving to Québec.
He is
currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Alexis Nihon Real Estate
Investment Trust. Over the years, Senator Massicotte has served on the
boards of several organizations, including the Bank of Canada, the
Canadian Institute of Public Real Estate Companies and the Canadian
Chamber of Commerce.
He was also one of the founding directors
of the Urban Development Institute of Quebec, and has, over the years,
been involved with several not-for-profit organizations.
Senator Massicotte and his wife have two children.
