Fundraising Operations Manager

This position is responsible for managing the Liberal Solutions department, a cross functional team responsible for acting as a first point-of-contact, offering seamless engagement services and exemplary support on behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) and supporting the Director, Fundraising Operations with duties related to continued fundraising compliance.

This position has the responsibility to deliver a positive and productive experience for contacts and stakeholders through better information and workflow management. It supports core members of the Liberal Solutions Team in fulfilling their duties and by implementing improvements as required or directed.

The Fundraising Operations Manager works with other LPC employees to ensure consistent, efficient and effective management of national programs by improving engagement, stewardship and internal processes. The role also collaborates with external stakeholders to achieve LPC operational objectives by lending technical, organizational and corporate expertise.

Job Duties:

  • Lead a dynamic team of staff and volunteers to triage, re-direct and ultimately meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholder engagement needs ranging from the public to registered Liberals and donors to local EDAs
  • Supervise and support team members in fulfilling their duties, prioritizing work and assigning to team members as required
  • Maintain organizational service standards
  • Identify opportunities to increase capacity of the team in order to meet the expanding needs of the party
  • Responsible for scheduling, approving payroll, preparing staffing recommendations and mentoring team members one-on-one
  • Deliver accurate and timely correspondence reports and team metrics to senior management team.
  • Maintain procedural documentation and internal staff notices to provide instructions for timely initiatives
  • Train staff on their regular duties, review and answer questions about difficult inquiries or procedures;
  • Provide support for all fundraising compliance related duties assigned to team members
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with departments reliant on Liberal Solutions for projects and services
  • Problem solve, grow knowledge and determine technical limitations when meeting operational objectives and collaborating with LPC employees or external vendors to find solutions
  • Conduct or ensure relevant training as required to LPC staff not on the Liberal Solutions Team
  • Negotiate with external stakeholders or vendors as required to meet organization and budget requirements
  • Other duties as required


  • Broad knowledge and experience in customer service with a demonstrated ability to improve service delivery
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience including people management and customer service experience
  • Project management, process improvement, and communications experience all beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in stewardship and fundraising initiatives, ideally in a multi-stakeholder/ not-for-profit environment
  • Above average skills in technology, innovation and problem-solving, particularly with customer relationship management and stakeholder management software (expert knowledge of Liberalist, Zendesk and WordPress programs and software is a particular asset)
  • Experience in campaigning, politics, policy and/or government are desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required and an ability to effectively communicate in French is an asset (Bilingualism preferred)
  • Requires completion of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related field such as; Political Science, Communications, Computer Science, Marketing or Business

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and operational objectives
  • Must excel in mentoring, building capacity and building consensus in a multi-stakeholder team environment
  • May be required to work unusual hours and periods at an accelerated pace over which you have no control
  • Limited travel may be required
