The Manager, IT Systems provides the leadership and direction necessary for the efficient and effective operations of all technology solutions in support of the Liberal Party of Canada’s organizing and campaigns. Responsibility includes ensuring appropriate communication with all levels of LPC management and staff, within all areas of the organization. The Manager, IT Systems will ensure that IT services, applications and infrastructure are operated in line with organizational requirements and defined service levels, and fulfilled in a manner that supports LPC’s success as an organization and movement.

Job Duties

  • Ensures that IT services are monitored 24/7 to provide real-time observation of health by ensuring that team members are trained to handle any problems efficiently and quickly.
  • Ensures that the work required to successfully operate IT services has been identified and described by minimizing service disruptions and downtime.
  • Ensures IT disaster recovery plans are maintained and achievable.
  • Oversees service monitoring and control to accurately observe the health of IT services.
  • Supports the development of frameworks, standard practices, procedures and controls to ensure effective and efficient information management through the implementation of IT systems that support and enhance the LPC’s business objectives.
  • Oversees all IT Infrastructure personnel to ensure effective growth and utilization of each employee’s skills and capabilities, and that they maintain the required state-of-the art technical expertise and increase levels of competence and responsibility.
  • Monitors industry directions and best practices, process innovations, emerging technologies, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities, and develops/presents business cases to introduce new technology initiatives.


  • Sustained experience and track record of success troubleshooting in the technology sector and working in a fast-paced, competitive, service delivery business.
  • Broad understanding of IT and AV systems
  • Intimate knowledge of network infrastructure and best practices
  • Technical requirements include but are not limited to: familiarity with storage area networks; scripting knowledge; Remote Access Services; thorough understanding of networking concepts; data back-up and recovery.
  • Experience in a Microsoft server environment required. Windows 2012/2016/2019
  • Experience managing Active directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365 administration and management using PowerShell Scripts
  • Experience with firewall configurations
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (DHCP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP)
  • Skilled at identifying technology issues, creatively solving these problems, and effectively communicating the process and solutions
  • Valid driver’s license


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Tactical planning and project management certification
  • Experience administering a VOIP phone system
  • Bilingualism (French/English)

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and operational objectives.
  • Must excel in mentoring, building capacity and building consensus in a multi-stakeholder team environment.
  • May be required to work unusual hours and periods at an accelerated pace.
  • Occasional travel
