Dedicated to women’s rights
Sophie is a national ambassador for Plan Canada’s “Because I am a Girl” initiative. She recently carried the important message of advancing the cause of women and girls at the Copenhagen “Women Deliver” conference organized by Plan Canada through video address in the Spring of 2016.
Sophie is the official spokesperson for the foundation Fillactive, an organization that encourages healthy self-esteem through a balanced lifestyle for young women. Since 2014, Sophie has been involved with ANEB Quebec, an organization that aims to provide support to people who struggle with eating disorders. In January 2017, Sophie became an ambassador for its 10th charity event to raise awareness for this important cause. She was also the spokesperson for the Shield of Athena, a non-profit organization for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse.

In 2012, Sophie launched the celebration for Plan Canada’s first-ever “International Day of the Girl,” an initiative endorsed by United Nations. Sophie also met with a team of renowned researchers in women’s mental health from Montreal’s Douglas Hospital, and took on the role of ambassador to the Mini-Psych School to help share the latest research and knowledge on the issue with Canadians.
In 2010, she was invited to attend Governor General Michaëlle Jean’s Women’s Conference. She hosted an event for United Nations Women Canada in Ottawa, and was the honoured guest and speaker at the McGill Students for UN Women Canada.
Over the years, she has lent her support to a multitude of causes, including: Women’s Festival Toronto, Girls for the Cure , the Canadian Mental Health Association, Dove’s “Pay Beauty Forward” program, the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart Truth, The Weekend to End Breast Cancer, Me to We (Free the Children), the Clinique des troubles alimentaires (BACA), Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association (BANA), FAB Women, the Looking Glass Foundation, the Vagina Monologues, la Maison Doris, Sheena’s Place, Ladies Who Lunch, Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health’s Annual Fundraising Galas and many more. Sophie not only promotes these causes in Canada but around the world during official visits. In September 2016, she notably took part in a roundtable discussion organized by Lean In on the achievements of Chinese women and girls during Canada’s official state visit to China.
