Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kevin Lamoureux attended high school in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan and in 1982 signed up for service with the Canadian Forces, where he served for three years. The following year, 1983, he married Cathy, with whom he began his family. Their two children are now 21 and 18 years old.

After leaving the military, Kevin attended the University of Winnipeg part time while working at the Bay and Caprice Distributors.

In 1988, he was elected for the first time to serve as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Since then, he has won more election victories than any other Liberal in Manitoba (re-election in 1990, 1995, 2003, and 2007).

During his time as MLA, Kevin has championed such important issues as immigration, justice , labour, finance, education and housing. He has held more critic roles than any other MLA in recent history, and has presented several petitions in the Legislature.

In his constituency office, he and his volunteers welcome hundreds and hundreds of people each month, in particular for assistance in navigating the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.  In fact, Kevin was the first MLA to speak in the Legislature about establishing the PNP, which has to date welcomed  so many new Canadians to Manitoba.

In 2010, Kevin was elected Member of Parliament for Winnipeg North.  In
